On March 31, 2017, the China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation organized experts in Beijing to conduct a scientific and technological achievement appraisal of the "FCC gasoline EHDS desulfurization technology meeting the upgrading of National V/VI standards," jointly researched and developed by Hebei Jingzhi Technology Co., Ltd. and China University of Petroleum (Beijing). The expert committee was chaired by Professor/Academician Cao Xianghong, with Professor/Academician Hu Yongkang and Professor/Academician Shu Xingtian serving as vice chairmen. Members included Professor Men Cungu, Professor Yang Yuanyi, Professor He Shengbao, Professor Li Zhiguo, Professor Yang Shangming, and Researcher Yang Chao.

The expert committee was chaired by Professor/Academician Cao Xianghong, with Professor/Academician Hu Yongkang and Professor/Academician Shu Xingtian serving as vice chairmen. Members included Professor Men Cungu, Professor Yang Yuanyi, Professor He Shengbao, Professor Li Zhiguo, Professor Yang Shangming, and Researcher Yang Chao. The appraisal opinions are as follows:
 
1. The appraisal materials are complete, the data is reliable, and meets the appraisal requirements.
 
2. This technology performs light, medium, and heavy three-stage distillation cuts on FCC gasoline. Solvent extraction is performed on the middle gasoline fraction to achieve the separation of alkanes, cycloalkanes, olefins, sulfides, and aromatics. Sulfides and aromatics Enter the subsequent selective hydrodesulfurization process along with the heavy gasoline fraction, which can significantly reduce the octane number loss caused by olefin hydrogenation.
 
3. This technology successfully developed a composite extraction solvent, determined the optimal process conditions for the solvent extraction process, formed a highly selective solvent extraction process technology, and can be optimally coupled with the selective hydrodesulfurization process to process high-sulfur catalytic gasoline, achieving the goal of "deep desulfurization, controlling olefin content, and reducing octane number loss."
 
4. This technology has been successfully applied in 7 companies, including Shandong Jingbo Petrochemical. When the sulfur content in the product gasoline is below 10μg/g, the RON loss is about 1.0 unit, and the hydrogen consumption is significantly reduced. Significant economic and social benefits have been achieved.
 
5. This technology has been granted 15 national invention patents and 1 Canadian patent, with independent intellectual property rights. It is highly innovative, has reached the internationally advanced level, and has broad prospects for promotion and application.
 
The appraisal committee unanimously agreed to pass the scientific and technological achievement appraisal.
 
It is recommended to accelerate the promotion and application.
